Second Life campaign for Electrolux

Electrolux is proud to introduce its first virtual colony in Second Life, the "Innovision Hub," developed in partnership with Gronstedt Group and Millions of Us. Whether you're Little Red Riding Hood or Batman, a fish or a dragon, or just an enhanced version of the real you, you're invited to teleport over to the giant light bulb hovering over a cardboard box, where we'll be hosting a series of meetings and holding contests for Second Life residents.

The Innovision Hub is a tribute to innovators in both the virtual and real worlds. A gallery honoring some of the last century's great inventors highlights the insights that have made our lives more livable. Portraits of celebrity innovators like Steve Jobs and Walt Disney share space with lesser-known characters like Otto Frederick Rohwedder, the inventor of sliced bread and Melitta Bentz, the genius behind the melitta coffee filter. These luminaries all shared Electrolux's passion for user-friendly innovations: Jobs didn't invent the first portable digital music player, but he invented the first truly useful player; Bentz didn't invent coffee, but her melitta filter brought the java brew to our homes.

This is the kind of innovation that Electrolux is all about - products that are thoughtfully designed to meet real user needs.

The grand opening will be held on October 4th at noon SLT (21:00 continental Europe) when we will acknowledge some of Second Life's leading gadget designers and innovators with our first ever "Innovision Awards." Meet the design gurus for a panel discussion about the challenges of gadget making and the process of innovation in Second Life. In addition we'll be unveiling a competition challenging visitors to invent a new word.

The winner will receive a 100,000 $Linden prize. Afterwards, our DJ will turn the Innovision Hub into a dance floor and rock your avatar with the hottest club tracks in all of virtual space. Remember, in Second Life no one knows that you can't dance.

Stay tuned for information on more meetings and contests in the next month at:
